Many SMBs and Enterprise businesses alike still have Microsoft software installed that is approaching its End-Of-Life (EOL).

This means that Microsoft has already dropped Mainstream Support for the product and is approaching the end of their Extended Support period for the product.  Microsoft will then stop providing important monitoring and critical updates which would address extremely dangerous security vulnerabilities, including data privacy, theft, and loss.

On October 14th 2025, Microsoft will be ending all support, updates and compliance on the following products:

  2. Microsoft Office 2016
  3. Microsoft Office 2019

What risks should I be aware of?

The team at Electrowise are fully prepared to assist in the migration to a new Operating System, New Workstation, or a New Server. We aim to have all our clients transitioned over to the most up-to-date software and/or hardware before the support ends.

It is however, important to start considering and implementing the changes sooner rather than later as the Electrowise team will be working hard through the coming months with numerous businesses to get them upgraded and up to date, meaning that the availability will be quickly taken up.
